You got to remember that I said "I used a date line of 1955 just to see what boys would have looked like had they got to have long hair back then." I think that boys shouldn't be forced to get a haircut. It's his hair. My father always got his last haircut of the school year in March or early April. It's summer vacation for 99 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day and got his first haircut the weekend before Labor day right before the school began. He said it grew past the shoulders quite a bit the summer when he was late 12 early 13, the year he started to go through puberty. He always wanted his hair long year round, but for the same reason you described, he was always was forced to cut it at least every 2 months at the longest. He looked very similar to this photo by end of summer vacation most summers except the summer he was late 12 early 13 when his hair grew a little past his shoulders going through puberty. His birthday was mid July.
