Middle of the back or longer. I just found out my godson living down in Florida that's in the Army, and I haven't got to see since 2019, his little boy hasn't cut the back of his hair since before the pandemic in 2019. It was the last real haircut he had was when he was 6 years old at the start of school that year, then the pandemic came and it was already starting to grow past the shoulders and at the end of the summer in 2021 with "quarantine hair" as they called it, and he liked it long2020. In fall of 2021 when they were able to go back to school again, he noticed all his friends were getting "Mullets" and he wanted to try it out. He loved it so much that he still hasn't cut the back of his hair except for a slight trim every haircut and is so long that it's touching the top of his pants. He's in 5th grade now and has the longest hair out of all the other boys in his school. His daddy said as long as you keep up your grades at a B average or above and keep those beautiful blonde locks, keep it brushed you can keep your mullet and keep growing it longer. Straight A student and loves it. Keeps it brushed too. Hoping to see him this summer. He's 11 now and is the cutest kid alive.

My father tried for about 6 months to get me to cut my hair, when I was about 10. I always had a flattop like his till I was 9 then it started growing out by accident and I hadn't went to the barbershop for about 9 months. I was 10 that summer when he noticed it was getting so long, we were sitting at the dinner table. I didn't have my hair slicked back with Brylcream in flattop mode, but it was brushed back, when I looked down, all that beautiful golden slightly strawberry blonde hair fell down over one side of my face down the side of my nose, almost to my chin, and with a sling over to the side when I looked up. He says son you need a haircut. I said politely no I don't. Father building an attitude, what was that son. I said I ain't gonna get my hair cut. He said you'll go to the barbershop even if I have to drag your little ass down there and cut that mop off. I slammed my fork on the table hitting the side of my plate, chicken legs and mac-n-cheese went to flyin all over the table, got up, ran to my bedroom yelling and screaming I ain't going to get a haircut, fell asleep crying. At midnight I hear a knock on my door, Jason you awake, I got your favorite on a plate, a PB&J, chicken legs and Mac-n-Cheese and a big tall glass of milk. She sat on the side of my bed, brushing my hair back with her hand out of my face, said you got beautiful golden locks, but boys aren't suppose to have long hair. I said all my friends do, then why can't I? I love it long. She said I'll talk to your daddy. It was almost 4 years later my hair was past the middle of my back. I found out years later all his coworkers were at his funeral said he bragged about me on how handsome I was with it being long and carried all my school photos in his wallet with the progress how long it grew, and some were in his big truck he drove. Mom even said he actually loved it long once it was past the shoulders, he was standing by the door that first night you 2 fought. When I got to the hallway he quietly whispered Jason can keep it long when we were walking to the living room, but never admitted it to you. I found his wallet, sure enough there was all my photos.
