Reminds me of when I was at school and wore long trousers, but for the school choir concerts we had to change into shorts and travel into the city. I felt very self conscious but I’m sure we looked very smart. I wasn’t much younger than this smart student.

Actually there's another boy, further along, who's also in shorts, albeit casual ones. Maybe, if he really is cold, the boy in school shorts should pull his socks up properly!

What lovely bare thighs, emphasised by his neatly pulled up knee socks and so smooth too! I would guess him to be 15 or thereabouts. I wonder if those English boys in their teens who have been campaigning for the right to wear shorts in summer would be happy to dress this way. The slimmer ones amongst them would look much better wearing proper briefly cut short trousers and long socks, rather than the baggy knee length ones usually worn with ankle socks.

Nice to see a 9th or 10th grader boy in shorts as school uniform. All schools must keep the boys in shorts as uniform until they complete grade 12.

I think it's his parents choice. I guess he is at least 16/17.. has such smooth legs, his legs must be shaved regularly by his parents.

Photo shopped! Mormon elders don't wear shorts and definitely never short shorts! If Mormon that old wore shorts they would be at or below the knee even if they lived on the sun! I was a Mormon missionary. The youth boys are forced on these missions through social pressure. Mormons will tell you it is a choice but it's not! By the time they are 4-5 years old boys are being mentally conditioned that you go on a mission or you are not a good member of the church. Leaders forbid members from dating and especially marrying outside the church. To make the mission program more successful the leaders spend those child rearing years on the girls too, they condition the girls believing no reason to date or marry anyone who hasn't gone on a two year mission! I have a muscle controlling disease where walking miles a day was nearly impossible. The church didn't care, my good Mormon girlfriend didn't care, my own family didn't care. I went dispite my doctors telling the church not a good idea and 5 in half months later my body broke down and then I had a mental breakdown!

An English prep school in the 1980s. Both boys are wearing the briefly cut school shorts of that era which, in my humble opinion, are much more suitable for boys of their age than the knee length variety now so common. The lad on the left has nicely sun tanned thighs. I suspect that his parents insisted on him wearing short trousers around the clock and not just for school.

yes definitely this is the ideal length of shorts as school uniform. me too think the left boy must had been kept in shorts all day. Ideally all boys should be kept in shorts at school, home all the time until 18 or completion of school education.

Lovely, these boys seem to be 10th graders, and at least 15 years of age. Now they should start taking care of their legs, as leg hairs start to grow very rapidly. May be they can ask their parents to get themselves shaved regularly to look nice in those shorts.

Many boys of his age in the UK are once again keen to wear shorts for school, in summer at least - but many schools no longer allow them and, when they do, the shorts are virtually knee length; which is a pity because this young man looks very happy, as well as smart, in the much briefer style common back then.
