Stephen Reid, Cello - Mr. Reid is very involved in the worlds of chamber music, orchestral music, and choral music. As a chamber musician, Mr. Reid has been cellist of the Gotham String Quartet and the Gotham Piano Trio; he was a founding member of both ensembles. He also plays with the Huntington Trio and Piano Quartet, and has been a member of several other string quartet and piano trio groups. For several years he has produced and performed in the annual spring chamber concerts of Rockland Symphony musicians. Mr. Reid has until recently been the leader of the Bennington Chamber Music Conference, which has a 4-week summer residency at Bennington College, serving for more than 20 years. As an orchestral musician, he is long-time principal cellist of the Rockland Symphony Orchestra (and formerly President of the RSO); he also performs with a number of other New York area orchestras. In the choral music area, Mr. Reid has been cellist for choral programs for a number of Hudson Valley ensembles, including those at Bard College, Concordia College, Nyack College, the Rockland Camerata, the Rockland County Choral Society, and the chamber choral group Sing We Enchanted. Fredrica Wyman, Piano - Ms. Wyman has performed as a soloist and collaborative artist in numerous concerts and recitals in New York. For 15 years she was Artistic Director of GraceMusic in Nyack. She has been a featured performer in programs for GraceMusic, Carnegie Concerts, New York Philomusica, Wave Hill, Kosciusko Foundation, The Roerich Museum and as the distaff side of the Oldfather-Wyman duo. She is a dedicated teacher with a private studio in Nyack, NY, and is currently President of the Rockland County Music Teachers Guild (RCMTG). Ms. Wyman is a graduate of the Boston University College of Fine Arts. Ms. Wyman is delighted to be performing with friends from the Rockland Symphony Orchestra, an organization that has had a long and close working relationship with the RCMTG. Each year several talented young winners of the RCMTG Concerto Competition perform concerto movements with the RSO at its Young People's Concert. It is exactly these kinds of events that make the RSO so important to the county as a cultural institution, as a vital resource and inspiration for young artists, and worthy of our support.
